Greetings from Carolee!

If you have family, you have many reasons to scrapbook. Aunts, cousins, grandparents…we all have memories of special people to record and remember. I was thinking about close families when I designed our Sentiments and Word Play lines. I was also inspired by the current trend in typography for home décor. I chose family sayings and placed them in the centers of the papers. They're sentiments that touch anyone's lives. Now, our creative customers are using them in a variety of ways. Here are just a few:
• One family is using our Happiness paper as the front cover for their family reunion booklets.
• A cardmaker cuts the sentiments out of the corners of our Love Life and Joy in Life papers and uses them on her cards.
• A decorator Mod Podged the words and flower motif from the Be Yourself paper onto a wooden plaque and tied it with ribbon for darling wall décor.
• A young mother, who needed a quick gift, simply placed photos of her family around the quote on the Count Blessings A paper. You could do the same thing using the Aqua Poem Splatters paper or put the photos in the center of the Little Things or Little Things Smile 12 x 12.
• Our advanced scrapbookers are cutting the papers apart and piecing beautiful pages with embellishments and journaling.
I hope March is a wonderful month for you, with lots of opportunities to scrapbook.

Happy Scrappin' – Carolee

News & Upcoming Events…

It's always fun to come back from our tradeshows and start shipping orders. Our Spring 2006 release included 56 papers with matching rub-ons, paper clips, and stamps. We love to hop on the computer and track what's selling. Often Carolee can predict which papers will be our best-sellers. Sometimes we'll be surprised at what flies out the door. That's what's fun and exciting about being part of this industry. We all knew the Aqua Flowers collection would be very popular. The fresh colors and fun designs seem to appeal to everyone. Try Aqua Funky Flowers, Aqua Paint Dots and Aqua Paint Stripes 12 x 12 papers for bridal shower invitations or for pages in your wedding scrapbooks.

Well, I've finally done it. I took the plunge and started a blog. What fun I am having! My goal is that the blog will not be just a bunch of random thoughts but rather a place to share ideas. I am even planning on having guest "bloggers" especially our design team. What a fun way to get to know them all a little better! Come check it out, I'd love to hear what you think. www.georganahall.typepad.com See you there!

WHAT'S A BLOG?? Well, that's a good question. According to Merriam-Webster a weblog is "a website that contains an online personal journal with reflections, comments, and often hyperlinks provided by the writer. "Really though, this definition doesn't accurately demonstrate how expressive, alive and dynamic a weblog can be. You can publish anything instantly. Be the sole author, or share a weblog with friends, family, or colleagues. Post your vacation photos, comment on the news, keep a private journal. My blog will contain fun info about AdornIt with Carolee's Creations, as well as photos, layouts, quotes and thoughts. And you can tune in and post replies. It's just a bunch of friends talking!

Fun & cute Easter Idea!

Behind the Doors – Employee Spotlight

This month's Carolee's Creations employee spotlight is Jenn Fortie.  Jenn's work includes sending our Internet orders, packaging, wholesale shipping, and putting together the catalog packets that we send to stores. She likes working at Carolee's because there's always something new. Her favorite Carolee's Creations product is the wide variety of 12 x 12 papers. Jenn gets lots of ideas for her own scrapbooking, though she's so busy right now with school, work, and coaching that she scrapbooks "only when I have to."

Jenn is currently in cosmetology school and will graduate in May. She really likes doing acrylic nails and hair color. She can't wait to finish school and get into her profession. She is also the coach of the Sky View Vistauns, a local high school drill team. Her team is just finishing a successful season. Jenn enjoys working with the girls and the excitement of competing. However, she won't miss getting up at 4 a.m. for early morning practices. Thanks to Jenn for all her hard work!
